Overview
Your inventory is organized into an inventory tree located in the left-hand menu (called the Resource Browser) under the Inventory icon. The inventory tree consists of parent inventory groups and child inventory groups. Through the Configure cog-wheel icon, you can open the Inventory Tree Configuration tab in order to create new parent and child inventory groups, rearrange groups and edit group settings.
Adding a Parent Inventory Group
- Click the New icon at the bottom of the tab.
- Give the new inventory group a name and an icon (click the search icon to launch the icon library)..
- Click ADD.
Adding a Child Inventory Group
- Hover over the inventory group that you want to add a child group to.
- Click the 3-dot menu.
- Click Add Child Group.
- Give the new child inventory group and name and an icon (click the search icon to launch the icon library).
- Click ADD.
You can add child groups to child groups. We recommend not going more than 4 child groups deep to allow easier navigation of the inventory tree.
Editing Inventory Group Settings
- Double-click on the inventory group that you want to edit.
- Edit the inventory group information.
- Name: The name of the inventory group as it appears in the inventory tree.
- Icon: Click the search icon to launch the icon library.
- View Groups: If any security group is checked, only members of that security group will be able to view the inventory group. If no security groups are checked, then all users will be able to view the inventory group.
- Management Group: The security group that primarily manages the inventory group. (optional)
- Sales Account: Select an account if you want the items from this group to be applied to that account when pushing invoices to QuickBooks.
- Purchase Account: Select an account if you want the items from this group to be applied to that account when pushing invoices to QuickBooks.

- Click OK.
Changing the Order of Inventory Groups
- Hover over the the inventory group that you want to move.
- Click and hold the icon to drag and drop the inventory group.
- Choose whether you want to move the group inside, above, or below another group.
The order that inventory groups are organized will be the order of subtotals on a Quote when you are using “Auto” sort mode. See Building and Editing a Quote for more information.
Deleting an Inventory Group
- Hover over the inventory group that you want to add a child group to.
- Click the 3-dot menu.
- Click the Delete Group icon.
- Confirm that you would like to delete the inventory group by clicking Yes.
