Updating Edited Items in a Quote

We're just finishing up with inventory, and are having to make some changes to various inventory models and packages. In the meantime, we're still building quotes for future events.
Our operations manager was wondering if there was any way to update quotes to have the most current version of the inventory models and packages they include. She is having to go into each quote and delete and replace every item that we are editing.
Has anybody dealt with this or found a workable solution?
