Virtual Package on Manifest

I have been trying to figure out if it is possible to create a model that is like a Virtual package, but can be used at the scan/prep phase and read on the manifest as the Virtual Package name. Examples of this item would be a speaker loom for a powered speaker array or a snake loom with it's various configurations.

Is this possible? Or am I spinning my wheels?

  Can you give an example of how you would want it to look on the Quote and Manifest?
