Just make a barcode for the desired quantity. You can use something like https://www.barcodesinc.com/generator/index.php or I think you can get barcode fonts for Word etc. Make 20 the string that you are encoding. The barcode scanner is just a keyboard emulator sending keystrokes.

Are you suggesting to have a separate list of barcodes to scan just for quantities that are not for specific items? Is there a way to build that into the item barcode?

Hi Nathan that is what I was suggesting, but my apologies I was answering in a hurry and I think I was mistaken. I don't think there is any way to scan multiples of an item without the quantity prompt.

You could make some container items with permanent contents I.e. Pin Kit with 20 pins as permanent contents, but that may have some other drawbacks.

The solution I came up with for my warehouse crew before we got scanners with number pads was to make a serialized item named "Quantity" and manually enter barcode numbers. You may want to create a separate folder in your Inventory Tree to separate it from your normal gear.

    1. Create new inventory item.

    2. Item name: Quantity

    3. Hide: Yes - if you have a sales team that doesn't need to see it.

    4. Preset: Serialized Item

    5. Complete.

    6. Go to the Serial Numbers tab & enter your quantity numbers as your barcode number. IE 1,2,3, 20, 80.

From there, you can either print out individual barcodes of those quantities and post them in a convenient area when scanning your pins or other nonserialized items or go to Inventory > Cheat Sheets to create a document of commonly used quantities.

    Hope this helps!
