Project Element for Organizing Child Elements of an Event Folder
Has anyone created a Project Element that would allow you to organize child elements of an Event folder? I'm thinking something like just a folder that child elements of an event folder could be moved into but still maintain programmed workflow action relationship between Event folders, quotes and pull sheets. I have some event folders with 30+ child elements. Most of the child elements in these type of event folders could potentially be organized by audio quotes/pull sheets, lighting quotes/ pull sheets or video quotes/ pull sheets so essentially, I'm wanting to be able to create an organizational folder for each department when necessary.
Thanks in advance for any tips on making this happen.

Hey Thomas,
It's definitely possible to create a new element for this, but usually I setup clients to use Event Folders within an Event Folder for this. Basically you have a root Event Folder, and then child Event Folders per department for your example. Just name the child Event Folders by the department assigned. If it works for you, I recommend it as a simpler solution. It's not as flexible as having an element specifically dedicated to being a "Department Folder", but most clients are not needing the added specificity. Even workflows can potentially differ while still being a part of 1 element type with a split workflow.
Hope that helps Thomas. Let me know if I can be of a direct service. I'm an independent consultant endorsed by Flex.

Thanks for the reply Aaron. We have been attempting to use event folders within event folders. For this method of organization to work better for us, I think I need to look into modifying our workflow actions so that confirmations and cancellations affect the status of the "sub-event folders" similarly to regular event folders, quotes and pull sheets.
Thanks for the suggestion.
