can I do a virtual package preset that DOES NOT Line mute the contents by default?
Does anybody know if I can set an inventory model virtual package preset that DOES NOT Line mute the contents by default? I want the contents of my virtual package to print on the quote.
Thanks!

Hey Toby,
Whether you use the Contents tab or the Suggestions tab, if it's adding items as a child, it LM's it by default. However, if you use Suggestions instead of Contents (which I generally recommend), you could setup Suggestion Types that add the items as Siblings or uses the Default Sorting Method (adds the items under the Subtotals based on the inventory tree). Those two association types would add the items without being LM'd by default. It's really about the child relationship and isn't affected by the inventory model presets.
Do keep in mind that you can LM or unLM everything by clicking on the "LM" at the top of the column. Many people don't realize this option.
Chime back if you have any specific questions. I have a lot of experience and good practices with Quote Package development if you want to engage directly. Thanks Toby!

Hi Aaron....thanks.
At first I did use the suggestion method, which was fine, but for this particular Item, I want the suggestion sibling to default to be included in price. I know there is a check box for that when the suggested items window pops up, but do you know of a setting to have that checkbox be checked by default for parent item?

The setting for Included in Price default is also found in the Suggestion Type settings, not the Parent Item settings. Just like with the Association Type (child, sibling, default sort) default. Suggestion Types are under menu Inventory > Suggestion Types. Then apply the desired Suggestion Type to the items in your package suggestions in the Suggestions tab. There's a lot you can do with the Suggestions and Suggestions Types, especially when you get into Suggestions of Suggestions and on down the rabbit hole. Hopefully, one day Flex will add the default Line Mute and other mute settings to the Suggestion Types, and they'll be that much better.
