Workbox storage requirements
Hi,
In our system we currently have several audio and video workboxes that are serialized free-pick containers, and have a standard pack of equipment/storage requirements but also get other items put into them as needed. All of the items inside are listed as non-permanent.
The issue I am running into is that we have two workboxes of the same model, one unit is used for audio, one is used for video. And because of this, we cannot differentiate the storage requirements as they can only be used on a model basis, not a serial unit basis.
With this issue, there is no way to know what should always go back into a specific workbox, and any of the items scanned into the container get dumped out once returned back into the system. A remedy would being able to print a manifest as a reference list and keep it inside the workbox, but I cannot find a way to do so without creating a dummy quote and going through the workflow.
Hopefully this dilemma makes sense, any advice or suggestions on a good process/practice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hey Jacob,
It's common for my clients to have separate models for your situation, even though they may be the same model from the manufacturer. As an example, you would have a "R&R 4-drawer Workbox - Audio" and a ""R&R 4-drawer Workbox - Video" model. Then you can assign units appropriately and have separate Storage Requirements. Obviously, there are implications to any change in procedure, but this works well for most of my clients.
Also, if you ever need to create a manifest for a single container, you can use the "Serialized Container Manifest" report and enter the barcode of the container.
Hope that helps!

Thank you for the detailed and speedy reply, I'll have to implement this tomorrow.
I've recently been introduced to flex, and have been trying my best to get up-to-date. I'm still learning a lot of the neat tricks and tools that is has available and how to find them. Just glad to see it has a helpful community behind it.
Thanks again and have a good one! -
