Prepping Show with Multiple Rooms/Zones on Single Quote

Hi, 

 

Has anyone figured out a way to go about prepping a Show that has a quotes broken down into different zones. 

 

What we are running into is it appears that as we scan and prep these events Flex auto fills the scanned inventory to the first available lines. Is there a way to focus the prep to certain items?

 

ie. computer kit 1 has usb a to b cables. Lets say the video category is halfway down the prep and Audio is first. There are USB cables with the audio list aswell for interfaces.

We typically have different people prep different sections, and unless the audio is complete when the computer kit is scanned, the usb cables from the computer kit scan off the USB cables of the audio interfaces.

 

Is there a way around this??

    Our warehouse folks were asking me the same thing, and it happened to be about USB A to B cables. From what they tell me this is different behavior from what they are used to, but I haven’t sat down with them yet and determined if it has something to do with the way that the containers are built.

    We've run into the same issue (we're specifically using the F5 Mobile App).

    As far as I've been able to tell; only virtual scanning can help to control that;

    which in itself is a pain as we try to reduce the number of staff that even know what that functionality does.

    We've use substitute line which is a pain as well. not optimal at all.

    We have been able to get used to having to use Substitute line. Hopefully something gets implemented to make this better.

    The only time we ever use the Mobile app is if we are onsite and trying to find what case something is in.

     

    For shop use we purchase "Receiving Carts" from Uline and outfitted each station with a Laptop, Motorola Barcode Scanner, and Direct Thermal Printer for show prep identification stickers. 

    For issues like this we have determined it better to just always use the Web version as making changes and doing workarounds like this are so much easier. Plus the Shop guys have each been able to modify their carts into their "own desk" to match their workflow best and productivity has been drastically improved,

    This won't be a solution for everyone, but you could try out creating partial pull sheets.  You would basically have a master pull sheet, and then create partial pull sheets from that.  This would create a prep screen process for each partial pull sheet.  The drawback is that you will then have multiple manifests and multiple return screens to manage.  If you need more explanation or want help, reply back or reach out.
