Force "Retail" on Consumables in Flex

Hello,

We have several items that are always sale items. Consumables like tape, batteries, and external hard drives are the most common. How can I set up the item in flex to default to a retail item when it is dragged into the order?

  wow great question!  it seems that you need to add an item to inventory and give it a serial number (barcode) then you can edit that item and change it to retail vs. rental which you probably already know. 
  It would be nice to be able to do that without serializing the item.  But I guess they figure you would serialize it to keep track of how many are being sold.  otherwise looks like you have to change it in the quote by item.

  Hi Robert. Even if I make it a serial model and select Resource Type "Retail" when creating additional serialized items, the user must manually switch from the items in the order from Rental to Retail & Rate to Each.

   

  It would be great if I created a subtotal and was able to tell that subtotal that all added items are retail before rental, that would be fine. Prioritize the resource setting that was selected when creating / adding the item to the inventory.

  In the inventory model under "Tracking / Logistics", If you set the "expendable" field to "yes" then on our system it automatically adds the item as retail on the quote.
