Flex5 Services Questions
1: For our company, we have different trucking rates: Tractor/Trailer, Straight Truck, & Van, all of which are on a per mile charge. How should we go about setting this up? Or, are there ways that other companies have set it up that would work well for us?
2: We have two different type of day rates: a normal day (10 hours) and a long day (10+). Is there a way to have two different day rates under each labor service type? Or would this be a separate service charge?

Hey Olivia,
1. I haven't personally seen this type of pricing used with any companies yet, but it is definitely possible. What I would recommend is setting up a Pricing Model called something like 'Miles' or 'Per Mile' and enabling it for your trucking services. For each transportation service, enter the price that you'd like to charge per mile in the respective Pricing Model field. When you drag the service onto a Quote, you can then set a quantity for how many miles you'd like to charge your client at that set rate.
2. You can set all different Pricing Models for any labor roles if you have everything properly enabled and set up for it. Meaning, make sure the Pricing Model is enabled for that particular Resource Type (labor) and that each labor role's Pricing tab is set how you would like them to be with enabling the Pricing Models.
2a. Alternatively, it's very common to set a Tiered Pricing Model based on the Hourly Rate that you're charging your client. Meaning, you can set tiers so that any hours up to and including the tenth hour are charged at a standard rate and any hours above that reach a new tier. I generally see companies set 3, a standard rate (1-10), overtime - time and a half (11-12), and double time (12+ hours).
