    Have you tried double-clicking on a day? That will open a popup which will show you the jobs on that day and availability details. I'm especially a fan of the Availability Details tab as it shows all the + and - operations for that item.

    Off the top of my head, I know blue means that there is a quantity of subrental items added to the rental pool. I don't remember what yellow means without playing with it.

    Yellow is for when "components" of an item are unavailable. In other words, if an Inventory Model has Contents and any one of those items has an availability of "less than 0," the result will render with a yellow background.

    As Bigs mentioned, blue is for an "overage." This is usually due to unreturned subrentals. We also use gray when availability is exactly 0.
