Serialized Storage Report
Hello,
Is there a way to generate or custom write a report that would print out after completing a serialized storage container from the content builder. I would love to create a report that prints out to a Dymo printer on a 4x6 sticker that can be affixed to the case that contains a timestamp, the person who built the package, and the package contents as well as a barcode. I can probably create the report but I cant find any way to link reports to such things as the content builder or a specific item.
I am looking to start implementing Serialized Storage in the warehouse but am worried about making sure that built packages are not raided before pull and letting everyone know whats in the case is in fact a package.
Cheers,
Evan

A report from Content Builder is a great idea. For now, we do have a report that displays the contents of a container from the Reports Menu - it's called "Serialized Container Manifest". There's no timestamp or mention of who scanned the items, but if you're familiar with customizing reports, that one can be downloaded to modify in Jaspersoft.

Alternatively, I can get you a report that you run from the Reports menu, and you would just have to copy and paste (or scan) the barcode into the report pop-up window. It can be 4x6 or whatever size you want. Let me know if you're interested by reaching out to my email below. Thanks!

This is a workaround, but not ideal. This would be something that a shop tech may end up doing a few dozen times a day, maybe even 100 on a busy day with a lot of returns. That would add quite a bit of time to make them go into a separate page every time they, for example, they load two wedges into a wedge case. I would probably only implement this workflow if there was a way to do it right from the content builder.

Evan Bollentin, agreed, it's not as efficient. Fastest way to use this alternative strategy is to have a separate browser tab open on the Report menu so you could quickly switch over and scan the case on the report pop-up. An extra few seconds per case likely.
You ought to mention your Content Builder version in the feature request section of the forum.

Cool idea Evan Bollentin! Unfortunately as everyone has stated, there's no trigger to print a report directly from content builder. Aaron Horn's suggestion is pretty good about having a second window up to generate the reports. I wonder if we could even take multiple case barcodes as a report input and then print your container label for each of them. So you could process a few cases then print the labels for all.
Have a look at our Case Labels report - it's a good example of showing case contents in a label size.
