Model w accessories vs. Model with Auto-Included Suggestion
Hey all is there a functional difference between using a Model with Accessories vs a Model with the same accessory set as "auto-include" in the Suggestions tab?
At my previous company we used suggestions, now the new company uses Model with Acc.
Im just curious about what the difference is.
Thanks

I would recommend using "Serialized Model with Accessories" for items that require additional items, for example, if you have an item that has a specific power supply or requires an ICE cable, I would add this item as a serialized model with accessories and add the specific power supply or ICE cable to the contents tab of that item. If the item has options such as a video camera that has different lens options, I would add the camera as a serialized model with accessories, add the power supply, and any other items that are required to operate the camera as accessories, then I would add the different lens options as required suggestions.

Art, Everything that the Contents tab (at the parent model level) can do, Suggestions can do. But Suggestions can do more than the Contents tab especially with the Suggestion Type features. Even though Jim suggested using the Contents tab, I generally steer clients towards using Suggestions (even for auto included items) if the client has the capacity to fully understand it. It just allows for more options with pricing, organization, etc.
But there's nothing wrong with using the Contents tab and it is less complicated if it gets you the desired result.
