Downloading Embedded Reports to Mac
Downloaded Jaspersoft for Mac, but when I download an embedded report from Flex 4 to my Mac it's only an empty TextEdit. Thanks in advance for assistance.

Hi Peter-
That's odd. Which report was it? It should be a .jrxml file full of XML code.
Fair warning - if you are looking to get into customization of Flex reports, it can be a bumpy road. AFAIK, Flex does not offer support on report customization aside from the existing documentation. And there are limits and pecularities in the data which is passed to the report from Flex via the XML data producers. So if you are looking to do anything more significant than move some elements around and change some fonts, I would be prepared for a significant learning curve and some struggles.
Alternatively, feel free to get in touch with the team here at Square Wave. We offer consultation and world-class report development for Flex users. You can see much of our existing work at www.squarewave.com.au
I hope that's helpful.

That's very odd Peter. What are the file sizes? If it's greater than 1K, the file is there, could just be something funky in how you're opening it.
Are you using the latest Flex 4 client app for Mac? Flex 5 > Main Menu > Help > Flex 4 App Download
Just to confirm - you are going to System Settings > Embedded Reports and downloading report files from there?
That's about all I can think of for troubleshooting steps. I would suggest that your next step would be to take a screen video of the whole process and submit it to Flex support via email request. They may be able to offer more insight by seeing what you're doing.
Good luck on this. And don't hesitate to reach out to Square Wave for any custom reporting needs.
Best,
Bigs
