Custom Field - Quote - "Event Type" Selection
We're looking to add a step into our quoting process to collect some data on what types of events we do (conferences, concerts, sporting events, etc). We'd like our sales team to have to enter in one of 5 options from a preset list, when starting the quote (aka "edit header" section). My initial thought on how to do this would be a Custom Field, with an option list (In F4 > Project Element > Quote > Custom Fields > Custom Field 1). For whatever reason I can't seem to choose or edit my option list items.
In Flex5, I tried making a Custom Field (System Settings > Custom Fields > Type- Element / Field Type Data - Option List) but this doesn't show up when I go to build my quote, only as a view tab, within my quotes.
What am I doing wrong? Is this idea of a dropdown list when starting a quote possible?

With the current functionality in Flex 4 and 5, you won't be able to add a custom drop-down to the quote creation popup. I see two options to achieve your goal:
Option 1: Use a custom field in the view tab like you did in Flex 5.
Option 2: Use the built-in Department drop-down field. At various companies, Department is typically either used to indicate 'Event type' e.g. Hire, Production, Concert, Sport etc.. or equipment department e.g. Audio, Lighting, etc. Some companies actually use it for both. At the Event Folder or Quote level they would use it to indicate Event Type, but the equipment department would be selected for Pull Sheets if there are multiple per quote.
