Overview

We’re excited to begin the phased rollout of the new Undo Scanning Engine. Starting February 27, 2025, this feature will be gradually rolled out to all users to replace the Legacy Undo Scan process. Each phase of the roll out will include a specific scanning mode(s) that will be gradually released to all customers during a specific time period (as shown on the timetable below).

What is Changing?

Enhancements have been made to fix previously known issues and improve the experience of the Undo Scan feature. Customers may notice a few changes in behavior and appearance. 

• A new prompt preference was added to scanning screens called Explode Container on Undo Outbound Scan.
  • This prompt allows you to decide if you want to remove the contents from the container when undoing an outbound scan, like a Prep scan or Free Scan Out. When the prompt is disabled (or "Yes" is not checked in the prompt), the contents will remain in the container. If you check "Yes" in the prompt, the contents will be removed (exploded) from the container.

• Improved scan log appearance for undo scans:
  • Reversed lines in the scan log will now populate associated "undo scan" logs as child lines. You can reference the undo scan lines to confirm who reversed the scan and when it was reversed.

    
    
    

• Undoing a scan that produces a recovery scan will return the item back to the previous job.
  • For example, if an item is prepped to Job A & then prepped to Job B, a recovery scan will be present. Undoing the Job B prep scan will also undo the recovery scan & the item will be returned to Job A. Scan modes that produce a recovery scan: Prep, Free Scan Out, & Content Builder.

Phases Timeline

Below you will find the release timeframe for each scan mode and a few improvements that will be included with the corresponding phase. To minimize any possible disruption to customers, most scan modes will gradually be released. By the latest date in each phase, 100% of customers will have received those updates.
