Overview
Contacts are organized in folders called Resource Types. There are several default contact resource types in Flex:
- Clients
- Employees
- Freelance Labor
- Labor Providers
- Vendors
- Venues
You can edit or delete any of these default resource types, and add additional resource types that suit the needs of your company.
Creating a New Contact Resource Type
- On the System Settings menu, click Resource Types.
- Click the New Resource Type icon located in the footer on the right side.
- Enter the new resource type details.
- Name: The name of the new resource type.
- Name Plural: The pluralized name of the resource type (used in various places throughout Flex).
- Availability Mode: Typically not applicable to service resource types unless it is a labor or staffing resource type.
- Applicable Resource Class: Choose "Contacts" so the new resource type will appear in the Resource Browser under the Contacts section.
- Sales Account: Optional account mapping for QuickBooks integration.
- Purchase Account: Optional account mapping for QuickBooks integration.
(any of the fields not listed here are not applicable to contact resource types)
- Click SAVE.
To edit Resource Types, double click the line within the grid or select the Options menu for the Resource Type and choose "Edit"
Rearranging the Order of Contact Resource Type Folders
- On the System Settings menu, click Resource Types.
- Choose Contacts from the Resource Class drop-down menu to filter (optional).
- Drag and drop the resource types by clicking and holding the far left section of the row (the Icon).
The order in which the resource types are listed on this page will be the order in which they appear in the Resource Browser.
