Overview
Static reports are PDFs that you can upload into your Flex system. You can then print these PDFs from the Reports section (in the Workbench Menu) of an element, or even include them in the Default Print Format Report. Common static reports might include a custom cover page, a credit card authorization form, or marketing material that you want to attach to your Quotes/Proposals.
Static reports are not editable within Flex. Whatever you upload into your Flex system in the form of a static report will be exactly what is printed from Flex.
Uploading a Static Report PDF
- Go to the Main Menu and select Reports.
- Click the Add New Static Report button at the bottom left.
- Give the report a name, report level (ElementLevel, Definition Level, or Global), paper size, and page orientation.
- Click Load PDF Document to upload a PDF from your computer.
- Click OK.
You can now enable a static report to be printed on an element level (from within an element, see Enabling a Static Report for Printing from an Element), or a definition level (on the Reports menu). You can also add the static report into the Default Print Format Report.
Editing a Static Report
- Go to the Main Menu and select Reports.
- Select the Show Only filter in the footer and choose Static Reports.
- Double-click the static report that you want to edit and adjust the static report details.
- Click OK.
Enabling a Static Report for Printing from an Element
- On the Projects menu, click Element Definitions.
- Double-click the element that you want to edit.
- Click on the Reports tab of the element settings.
- In the Element Level Reports section, check the box next to the static report(s) that you want to enable (changes will automatically be saved).
The static report will now show as an option in the Reports section of the Workbench Menu for the element (Quote, Invoice, Pull Sheet, etc.).
Adding a Static Report to the Default Print Format Report
As explained in the Reports tab section, you can modify what Flex prints when you click Generate PDF on an element. You can also add static reports to this "stack" of reports.
- On the Projects menu, click Element Definitions.
- Double-click on the element that you want to edit.
- Click on the Reports tab of the element settings.
- In the Default Print Format Report section, click the Add New Reports icon.
- In the Report column, choose the static report that you want to include in the "stack".
- Repeat these steps for as many static reports that you want to add to the Default Print Format Report.
Deleting a Static Report
- Go to the Main Menu and select Reports.
- Select the Show Only filter in the footer and choose Static Reports.
- Select the Options Menu of the static report you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
