Mobile App: Prepping a Pull Sheet

Overview

You can prep a Pull Sheet in the Flex5 app and view the progress as you go. On the prep screen, you can type in barcodes, use the device camera as a scanner, or pair a bluetooth scanner and enter bluetooth scanning mode.

Opening the Prep Screen for a Pull Sheet

Currently, the only way to get to the prep screen for a Pull Sheet is through the Element List Widget. If you configured your Element List Widget to show Pull Sheets, then you can tap the Pull Sheet from the list and view the information and actions for that Pull Sheet. One of the actions is "Go to Prep Screen."

In future versions of the app, you will be able to search for a Pull Sheet and go to the prep screen from the search results.

Scanning Out From a Pull Sheet

When you are on the Prep Pull Sheet page, you can scan inventory several ways (all of which are outlined on the instruction page when you first open the Prep Pull Sheet page).

  • Type a barcode into the barcode input field
  • Tap the camera icon (top right) and scan a barcode with the device's camera
  • Connect a bluetooth scanner and enter bluetooth scan mode by tapping the bluetooth icon (top right, next to the camera icon). 
When you enter bluetooth scan mode, the cursor automatically defaults to the barcode input field, and will stay there even if you tap out of the input field to interact with the screen in another way.

Just like in the desktop version of Flex, when you are on a scanning page, you are scanning from a specific warehouse location. If you only have one warehouse set up in Flex, then you will always be scanning from that location. But if you have multiple warehouse locations, then we recommend verifying that you are scanning from the correct location by checking the current location at the bottom of the list (in the footer section).

To change the location, tap the location name and choose the new location from the popup window.

You can also change the sound theme that you are using by tapping on the cog-wheel, then tapping on the sound theme name and selecting a new sound theme from the popup.

Undoing a Scan

You can undo your last scan by tapping Undo Scan in the "last scan" bar along the top of the prep screen.

To undo other scans you did during your scanning session, tap the cog-wheel at the bottom of the list (in the footer section), then tap Scan History. Tap on any scan history result and one of the actions that shows in the detail view is Undo Scan. Tap Undo Scan to undo that scan.

Currently, the scan history page only shows scans completed during the current scanning session. If you exit the prep screen then re-enter, the scan history will reset.

Viewing Your Scan History

As described in the previous section, you can view your scan history by tapping the cog-wheel (in the footer section), then tapping Scan History.

You can tap through the list of scans to view information about the inventory model or unit that was scanned, as well as undo the scan and open the inventory model or unit.

Currently, the scan history page only shows scans completed during the current scanning session. If you exit the prep screen then re-enter, the scan history will reset.

To return to the Pull Sheet list, tap the cog-wheel again and tap Pull Sheet.

Viewing the Manifest

Every unit or model quantity you scan during the prep will go onto a Manifest. The Manifest is a separate element that you can open to view. But you can also quickly reference the Manifest without leaving the prep screen.

  1. Tap the cog-wheel (in the footer section).
  2. Tap Manifest.

You can scroll through the list to view any line item on the Manifest. Tap a line item to view information about the model or unit.

To return to the Pull Sheet list, tap the cog-wheel again and tap Pull Sheet.

Shortcut: To return to the Pull Sheet list from the Manifest view, you can also just tap the Ps icon in the top-left area of the screen.

Finalizing a Pull Sheet Prep

  1. Tap the cog-wheel (in the footer section).
  2. Tap Finalize.
  3. Follow on-screen prompts to complete.
