Overview
Content Builder is the tool that you can use to scan inventory into a container within Flex, so when you scan the container, all the inventory inside it automatically scans with it.
In the Flex5 app, the Content Builder functionality is the same, but we have slightly modified the way that you access and use Content Builder. Instead of opening the full view of a serial unit then going to the "Contents" tab to start building a container, you will now open the Content Builder scanning page and enter the container barcode to start building. Instructions are outlined below.
Accessing Content Builder
There are several ways to access Content Builder:
- On the Serial Units tab of an inventory model, tap a serial unit then one of the actions will be "Content Builder."
- On any return scanning screen, if you scan or tap a container unit, one of the actions will be "Content Builder."
- Using the hamburger menu (under the Warehouse section) or the icon in the Quick Launcher widget.
Using Content Builder
See the previous section for instructions on how to access / open the Content Builder.
With a container unit loaded in Content Builder, start scanning the inventory that you want to go inside the container. You can do this by typing in barcodes into the barcode input box, using a bluetooth barcode scanner, or by using the camera (tap the camera icon in the top right).
Storage Requirements will show with the required quantity and scanned quantity. If the storage requirement is a serialized model and you have scanned units into the container, then you can tap "View Units" to see the units that you have scanned so far.
You can remove ALL contents of a container by tapping the cog-wheel at the bottom and tapping "Remove all Contents."
You can also remove specific contents by tapping on the storage requirement model, then tapping "Remove All Units" (which will just remove units for that storage requirement), or by tapping "View Units," then tapping on one of the units and tapping "Remove Serial Unit" (which will only remove that specific unit).
When you are done scanning inventory into the container, you can either tap the back button next to the container name, or scan the container barcode. This will take you back to the main Content Builder page with a list of all the containers you have scanned during that session.
