Overview
You can create multiple currencies in your Flex system, as well as set inventory/service pricing for each type of currency. Flex Support should have set up your system to use the common currency in your area.
Adding a Currency
- In the Main Menu, go to System Settings and select Currencies.
- Click the Add New Currency button in the bottom left.
- Enter the new currency information.
- Name: The name of the currency (US Dollar, Euro, etc.).
- ISO Code: International Organization for Standardization currency code (USD, EUR, etc.).
- Locale: Locale settings will affect the appearance of your currency, like whether it uses a comma or decimal point to split dollars and cents.
- Issuing Authority: Optional
- Click OK.
Any screen where you can input pricing will have a tab with the new currency where you can input separate pricing information for that currency.
Editing a Currency
- In the Main Menu, go to System Settings and select Currencies.
- Double-click on the currency that you want to edit.
- Edit the currency information.
- Name: The name of the currency (US Dollar, Euro, etc.).
- ISO Code: International Organization for Standardization currency code (USD, EUR, etc.).
- Locale: Locale settings will affect the appearance of your currency, like whether it uses a comma or decimal point to split dollars and cents.
- Issuing Authority: Optional
- Click OK.
Setting a Default Currency for a Location
You can set a default currency for a business location. With a default currency set, any time you create a new financial element (Quote, Invoice, PO, etc.), the default currency for the location will be used.
How to choose a default currency for a business location:
- In the Main Menu, go to System Settings and select Business Locations.
- Double-click on the business location that you want to edit.
- Click the Edit Location icon in the header.
- Choose which currency to be the default in the Currency field.
- Click OK.
Setting a Default Currency for a Contact
You can set a default currency for a contact. With a default currency set, any time you create a new financial element (Quote, Invoice, PO, etc.), the default currency for that contact will be used. The default currency for a location will be overridden by the default currency for a contact.
How to choose a default currency for a contact:
- Open the Contact for which you want to set a default currency.
- Click the Default Terms tab.
- Choose a default currency from the dropdown menu.
Deleting a Currency
- In the Main Menu, go to System Settings and select Currencies.
- Select the checkbox(s) of the Currency you want to delete.
- Click the Delete Selected Currency(s) icon located in the bottom left of the tab.
Undeleting a Currency
- In the Main Menu, go to System Settings and select Currencies.
- Check the "Show Deleted Only" option located in the bottom left of the tab.
- Select the checkbox(s) for the currency you want to undelete.
- Click the Undelete Selected Currency(s) icon located in the bottom left of the tab.
