Introduction
This article covers how to connect more than one PayEngine Merchant account to Flex and how to map Merchants to Corporate Identities. Be sure to check out PayEngine | Overview and Key Concepts for general information.
Using PayEngine requires the Flex Enterprise plan. If you don't see PayEngine in Main Menu > Integrations, contact Flex Support to activate it.
Creating Additional Merchant Accounts
If you have more than one corporation, having multiple PayEngine Merchant accounts will allow you to keep payments and financial information separate for each one.
Each new Merchant account will need to undergo the underwriting process to submit that Merchant's financial information and will be reviewed individually by PayEngine. Merchant accounts have their own fees and will be processed according to how that Merchant account is set up.
To create a new Merchant:
- In PayEngine Integration Settings, navigate to the Merchants tab.
- Bottom-left of the screen, click Create New Merchant
- Enter the legal name of your Merchant* in the field and click the Create button
*This input is what will display in Flex on the Merchants tab, and will be overwritten by the Legal Name field in the PayEngine process.
- A new tab will open with a PayEngine sign-up page to begin the underwriting process
Mapping Merchants to Corporate IDs
In order for funds to be connected to the correct Merchant account, corporate identities need to mapped to a Merchant.
To map a Merchant:
- In the right-side grid on the Merchants tab, find which corporate identity you wish to map
- Click on the Merchant column space for the dropdown to appear
- Select an Active* merchant from the dropdown
*Merchants that have not been approved by PayEngine and/or do not have an Active status cannot be mapped. Please wait for the Merchant account to be made Active before attempting to connect. - Click anywhere else outside of the dropdown on the page for the change to save
- Elements that have been assigned that corporate identity will be linked to that Merchant.
*Corporate Identities need to be mapped to Merchants, or else you will be unable to send a payment link to customer(s).
